Our Founding

On October 25th, RAC Berlin International went into founding with 19 members! We passed our Constitution and by-laws and elected a Board of seven members. Next steps: continue establishing our club life and partnerships and organize a charter party!

Hey fellow Rotaracters and friends!

You want to meet new people, help organize community service events and learn new things? Then come to Rotaract Club Berlin International! We are a group of students and young professionals ages 18 to 30 that meet once a week to organize community service events, listen to presentations from esteemed members of the community, have fun together and build bridges across cultures and society! Our meetings are held in English, so if you are looking to get plugged into an English-speaking community in Berlin, come check us out!

We meet every Wednesday evening at 7.30pm in a mixture of formal and informal meetings. Check out our calendar and our facebook page for information about the topic and location of the meeting.

  • What is Rotaract (RAC)?
Rotaract is an international service and leadership organization. As Rotaracters, we are young members of the Rotary International community. Rotaract stands for “Rotary in Action” and our activities revolve around the Rotaract principles of “Learning, Helping and Celebrating“. There are more than 4,000 members in 200 clubs all over Germany that are working towards the goals of supporting others in friendship, tolerance, and community within an international mindset.
  • Who are we as RAC Berlin International?
We are the newest Rotaract Club in Berlin! Our activities have an international focus and our meetings are held in English. We aim to create an atmosphere where our guests and members can

    • further their personal development
    • address the needs of Berlin in a sustainable way
    • build bridges and promote better relations between all people through a framework of friendship and service

If this sounds like it could be for you, please get in touch with us!

Soccer: The Universal Language

Last Sunday members from our club organized a soccer tournament together with residents from the refugee shelter in Berlin-Buch. The weather was beautiful and everyone had a lot of fun! We hope to do a similar event in the future. Send us a message if you would like to join!

District 1940 Conference in Cottbus

Members from our club joined Rotaracters from across district 1940 in the first of two district conferences this past weekend in Cottbus, near Berlin. We learned about what is happening in the Rotaract Germany Committee and the district, as well as got to know other Rotaracters from clubs throughout the district. The program included a visit to the Cottbus Hospice Center and Cottbus’s theater. Thank you to the organizing club and district team for a great weekend!

The Future of Insurance: InsurTech

Tonight we had the pleasure of welcoming Tim Besser from the Rotary Club Berlin International, our sponsoring club, for a talk about insurance technology. This is a steadily growing sector in the German market and is bound to revolutionize how we view insurance in the very near future!

Are You Bored Yet?

This afternoon our club had the opportunity to participate in a coaching workshop on holding presentations. We learned how to organize our presentations so that we can speak to our audiences in a sustainable way.  We also participated in a self-evaluation and learned where our strengths are and in what areas we can improve. Thank you very much to Andreas Bornhäußer for his time and expertise! Thank you also to Rotaracters from Berlin-Hauptstadtclub, who joined for the workshop as well.

New Community Service Project

In our search for a community service project with refugees we visited a shelter today in Berlin-Buch. We had a great time checking out the shelter and speaking to the volunteer coordinator.

There are plenty of opportunities for us to get involved with the resident community, be it by cooking together, playing sports or doing arts and crafts. We are looking forward to our cooperation with the Gemeinschaftsunterkunft Wolfang-Heinz-Straße!

Send this page a message or check out our facebook page if you are interested in helping out as well.
