Cooking and Skyping with Rotaract Antalya Aspendos

What’s an easy and fun way to connect with people? Through food! So on Monday evening, we decided to “spice up” our skype call with Antalya Aspendos Rotaract by cooking a turkish dish of their choice. We talked about our projects, got to know a bit about each others members and got tips on how to cook the Kısır. This time we got to enjoy the delicious food, but next time we get to help Antalya Aspendos Rotaract make a german dish for dinner!

Sustainable Fashion

On September 6th, Cynthia Salim, founder of the sustainable luxury fashion brand Citizens’ Mark, joined our club to talk about impact entrepreneurship and her company. This inspiring presentation taught us to go beyond what we and others think is possible and to keep pushing boundaries, both self-and externally imposed. Thanks, Cynthia!

German Politics and the Fight for the Chancellery

On August 30th ZDF television correspondent Mathis Feldhoff joined our club to speak about his recent documentary centered around the campaign for the chancellery between Angela Merkel and Martin Schulz. The documentary “Macht! Kamp! Wahl!” can be found in the ZDF mediathek for those who are interested in viewing it. We were happy to welcome Rotaracters from the other Berliner clubs as well!

Meeting about Rotaract Membership

Last night we held a meeting about Rotaract membership and what it means to be a part of Rotaract Club Berlin International! We are so happy that there were so many interested people and look forward to the next steps in founding this club!

Project manager Max Klasen from the NETWORK Enterprises Integrating Refugees (NETZWERK Unternehmen integrieren Flüchtlinge) spoke to us about the initiative, which works with over 1,000 companies in Germany in their integration efforts regarding introducing refugees to the German labor market. The project is organized by the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) and financed by the German Ministry of the Economy and Energy.

Presentation on Selling an Idea that Sounds Right to Them and Feels Good to You

RAC Hauptstadtclub Past President and freelance coach Brittany Arthur spoke to us about the topic of selling: be it a product, an idea, or yourself. She talked about her experience with the German, Japanese and Australian markets and gave us a fresh way of looking at how intentional we are in our interactions with friends, family, business partners, and potential clients.

As a long-time Rotaracter, Brittany imparted these final words on us: “At Rotaract, people come for the idea but stay for the people”. That is our goal with this club: create an atmosphere where people want to come and hang out, while still focusing on serving our community and broadening our horizons. Join us!
